Best Brevo alternatives in a nutshell
Here’s a quick overview of the various Brevo alternatives listed in this post and what they offer.
Moosend: features that stand out
Moosend is one of the best Brevo alternatives out there. This platform can level up your customer segmentation and automation capabilities. It also has responsive customer support.
In addition, its personalization tags and content blocks are widely touted, as they can really enhance the quality and effectiveness of your email marketing campaigns.
Building email campaigns
Moosend now has a new, intuitive email builder with improved capabilities. Its Campaign Creation Wizard will guide you through the entire process of building new email campaigns.
But what exactly are the features that it offers? Let’s take a look at some:
- It provides 82 email templates that are fully customizable. Some of them look better than what you’d find in Brevo, some worse. But you can always pick what you like.
- Five campaign options to pick from — regular, A/B split test, repeated, RSS, and automation.
- An exhaustive list of personalization tags, such as account email, recipient name, city, etc.
- Useful ecommerce layouts, plus the liberty to choose what kind of products will be displayed there.
- A real-time personalized subject-line enhancer.
- Ability to leave comments in the email editor for your colleagues and go back to previous versions of your email while editing.
With all that functionality, the email builder might look a little bit crowded at some points. However, Moosend has great features and will empower you to send beautiful yet effective email campaigns.
Marketing automation
Moosend makes life easy for those who are new to marketing automation. It comes with 18 pre-built automation templates, each of which has a summary to explain what it does.
For some reason though, Moosend calls its templates ‘Recipes,’ which can be a bit misleading. Moreover, just like with most Brevo alternatives, Moosend only offers workflow logic in most cases. The responsibility to add content and design is on you.
That being said, the automation builder seems pretty easy to use. It hits the sweet spot between simplicity and sophistication.
If you own an ecommerce business, you’ll also find it helpful that you can filter customers on the basis of both email and shopping behavior.
Some other automation features include the capability to use multiple triggers at once, workflow sharing, and accessible reporting for any part of the workflow.
Forms and list management
Moosend is equipped with a range of landing page, popup, and signup form templates for various needs.
There are unique features like the Wheel of Fortune (WoF) to help you grow your subscriber list by providing interactive experiences. Additionally, its advanced segmentation capabilities come with more than 40 targeting criteria. You can also create your own custom fields and tags, which basically means there are no limits on which filters you can use.
Compatibility with other marketing channels
Moosend doesn’t measure up to Brevo when you’re looking for compatibility with other marketing channels. The platform is missing SMS and WhatsApp marketing, web push notifications, and Google and Facebook retargeting.
All you can do is add Facebook pixel data to your landing pages. If you have customer data and want to include other channels in your marketing strategy, Omnisend would be the better alternative.
Pricing
If you touch base with your subscribers regularly, Moosend is the economical option because you can send any number of emails. This is in stark contrast to Brevo, which charges on the basis of monthly email volume.
The drawback, however, is that Moosend doesn’t come with a free plan, only a free trial.
Why choose Moosend instead of Brevo
Moosend fares much better than Brevo does in terms of segmentation and marketing automation, and it offers some unique features that Brevo doesn’t have.
Why choose Brevo instead of Moosend
If your needs go beyond email marketing, Brevo is a better choice. Moreover, small business owners may find Brevo’s forever-free plan quite valuable.
Omnisend: features that stand out
Omnisend is a feature-rich email marketing software, ideal for fast-growing ecommerce brands. It offers robust automation, advanced analytics, modern-looking signup forms, and email templates. It also has a great reputation in the industry.
In addition, unique inclusions like customer lifecycle-based segmentation, international SMS, and gamification make it one of the best Brevo alternatives.
Building email campaigns
Omnisend now has a brand-new email builder that lets users create email campaigns 50% faster and offers 2x more templates and layout options.
One Omnisend feature that’s praised by users is its ability to automatically apply brand colors, logos, and fonts to emails.
The builder comes with a clean email campaign wizard. It allows inbox previews, which is a pretty unique feature. Talking of special features, here are some more:
- Product Recommender: Offer personalized recommendations based on customers’ shopping history and interests.
- Campaign Booster: Resend emails to those that didn’t open them the first time.
- Product Picker: Import products straight from your store to your emails
As you can see, this Brevo alternative’s functionalities are primarily geared toward ecommerce businesses. Omnisend not only lets you run all types of regular email campaigns, its beta version also offers AI-generated email campaigns.
Although navigating so many features can be a bit overwhelming for new users, there are lots of articles and tutorials to show you the way.
Marketing automation
Omnisend flaunts powerful automation capabilities.
It offers a huge pool of pre-built automation workflows that can be launched in just a few minutes. Here are some workflows you’ll find built-in:
- Welcome series
- Product, cart, and browse abandonment
- Order and shipping confirmation, plus many others
What’s more, Omnisend comes with plenty of options for triggers, conditions, and filters. This helps you ensure that your subscribers are receiving targeted emails.
Omnisend’s omnichannel capabilities also enable marketers to maintain a consistent experience across several channels, including SMS and web push notifications.
And finally, you can use Omnisend’s automation splits to tailor incentives and discounts for several messaging paths within a single workflow.
Forms and list management
With Omnisend, you will enjoy powerful email list-building capabilities.
Whether you want to capture signups from new store visitors, gamify the process to make it more interactive, or build an engaging landing page, Omnisend is the tool you need.
There are six ready-to-use landing page templates and more than 80 signup form templates at your disposal. Omnisend also offers other smart ways to grow your subscriber lists, such as the Wheel of Fortune and exciting teasers.
If targeted messaging is on your radar, Omnisend lets you segment lists based on website behavior, interests, past purchases, and email engagement.
Unlike Brevo, Omnisend provides real-time automatic updates and customer lifecycle-based segmentation to boost customer retention.
Compatibility with other marketing channels
Omnisend is one of the most sought-after Brevo alternatives, and one reason for this is its compatibility with other channels. This means that instead of executing campaigns on different channels, you seamlessly integrate multiple channels to create an omnichannel campaign.
Email, SMS, and push notifications can be combined into one communication flow, and you can even improve cart abandonment rates with Facebook and Google ads.
Pricing
When compared to Brevo, Omnisend’s paid plans are more expensive. But you can test the entire platform, and all of its features, for free.
Why choose Omnisend instead of Brevo
Omnisend is the ideal choice for scaling ecommerce businesses, and those that want to take an omnichannel marketing approach. Also, it features a generous free plan and award-winning customer support, making it a great option for beginners.
Why choose Brevo instead of Omnisend
For solopreneurs or small businesses, Omnisend might be too expensive and too powerful.
MailerLite: features that stand out
MailerLite is an email marketing solution that offers autoresponders, customizable templates, a landing page builder, time-zone delivery, and multi-trigger automation.
It offers some pretty cool elements to add to your emails and signup forms. And the best thing about it — MailerLite is very affordable.
Building email campaigns
MailerLite comes with three different campaign builders — a drag-and-drop editor, a rich-text editor, and a custom HTML editor.
Here’s what you can expect when using MailerLite’s email builder:
- 90 customizable templates
- A straightforward process to add a logo, and everything else you need, including surveys, quizzes, etc.
- Ready-made content blocks for mobile app installations, events, countdowns, etc
- Different types of email campaigns — standard, A/B testing, auto-resend, and automatic RSS
One of MailerLite’s unique features is that you can add Facebook and Twitter posts directly into your email. It also has the capability to automatically resend a campaign to people who didn’t open your first email.
MailerLite makes it very easy to manage campaigns on the mobile app, which is great for those who are often on the go.
Marketing automation
MailerLite offers 15 automation templates, such as:
- Welcome email
- Webinar invitation
- Membership renewal
- Abandoned cart, etc.
Users can create simple automation workflows based on triggers, such as when a subscriber joins a group or clicks a link. Multi-trigger automation is also available.
However, its automation features are a bit basic compared to other tools mentioned above. It’s impossible to integrate other marketing channels or use on-site behavior and some more ecommerce-specific triggers to segment recipients.
Other than that, MailerLite does reporting and analytics pretty well. It provides a clean dashboard to track audience engagement, metrics, and overall growth.
Forms and list management
Just like the other Brevo alternatives on this list, MailerLite lets users build custom landing pages and a wide variety of signup forms.
A really good tool it offers is MailerCheck, which keeps your email list clean and optimized in three simple steps.
You can also use the platform’s Stripe integration to sell digital products and subscriptions straight from your landing pages.
Compatibility with other marketing channels
MailerLite doesn’t quite compete with Brevo on this front. The platform is solely focused on email marketing, with the exception of Facebook retargeting available in the Advanced plan.
Pricing
MailerLite is a lot cheaper than Brevo. With 12,000 monthly emails, its free plan is one of the most generous in the market. Also note that while MailerLite’s monthly prices increase with the number of subscribers, Brevo’s prices are based on the number of emails.
Why choose MailerLite instead of Brevo
MailerLite can be a useful platform if your needs are limited to basic email marketing, and your budget is small. It is very economical for nonprofit organizations because they get an extra 30% off on paid plans.
Why choose Brevo instead of MailerLite
Brevo is the right pick for those who need advanced features, such as transactional emails, SMS marketing, or sales CRM capabilities. It is also the better choice if having a big subscriber list is more important to you than the volume of monthly emails.
Alternative to avoid: Klaviyo
Moosend, Omnisend, and MailerLite are all great Brevo alternatives.
However, is there an email marketing tool you should avoid? And if yes, why?
In our opinion, that’s Klaviyo.
Don’t get us wrong — Klaviyo is a comprehensive solution for omnichannel marketing and comes with robust integrations and sophisticated features.
Unfortunately, though, it is quite expensive when compared to most Brevo alternatives. And when your subscriber list starts growing, you’ll find that the prices increase steeply.
In addition, users have reported that the tool is a bit difficult to navigate, has a steep learning curve, and the customer support is below average.
So the reason why we don’t recommend choosing Klaviyo instantly after Brevo is that the switch will be too significant in terms of price and the experience. You will pay a lot and will have a huge challenge to use the platform to its fullest potential. Unless of course you hire a team for that.
Brevo alternatives: Summary
There you have it — the top three Brevo alternatives.
When selecting a platform, make sure you keep your business requirements and budget in mind. We’d highly recommend thinking about your long-term strategy as well.
If you think you’ll be expanding your marketing to other channels in the future, consider choosing a platform that embraces an omnichannel approach.
Moreover, pick a platform that has templates and designs that fit your brand’s identity. This will save you lots of time.
