This post examines their features and pricing plans to help you make the right choice.

Let’s get started!

From the Klaviyo vs GetResponse comparison table above; the tools look pretty similar regarding their offerings. To bring out the critical differences between these tools, we’ll have to closely examine their features to find out what makes them unique.

Klaviyo vs GetResponse: Feature by feature

When choosing an email service platform, select one with robust features to help you generate sales and not just send beautiful emails.

That’s why you want to consider other important features to make an informed decision between GetResponse and Klaviyo.

Our feature-by-feature comparison will help you understand how each tool satisfies your unique marketing needs.

Ease of getting started

First things first, how easy is it to get started with either of these tools?

Fortunately, both platforms have a simple signup process.

Klaviyo getting started

Klaviyo doesn’t require users to provide credit card details to register with the platform. The signup process is smooth since they don’t ask too many questions.

GetResponse also has a simple signup process that doesn’t require a credit card. This allows you to get started quickly and start working on your first campaign.

Once you get to the platform, you’ll find that GetResponse’s interface and navigation are self-explanatory. All the settings you need to build a campaign are easy to find and modify.

Similarly, Klaviyo’s interface is also quite clear. The interface is similar to what we found in Omnisend and some other platforms, and all necessary settings are easy to find.

The only drawback with Klaviyo is that utilizing its advanced features to the fullest extent may require some prior experience. For example, the mapping data for contact import wasn’t as smooth as on other email platforms.

Klaviyo vs. GetResponse: Who's the winner?

GetResponse wins this round by the slightest of margins because the platform is complete, provides good onboarding and a well-thought-out navigation logic, and nothing is missing.

GetResponse

Building an email campaign

How easy is it to build an email campaign with Klaviyo or GetResponse?

Fortunately, both tools make it easy for marketers to create and manage email campaigns. GetResponse’s intuitive and well-organized email editor has the following features:

  • Has all the essential elements you need to build an email campaign
  • Provides functional ecommerce content blocks, such as a block that displays products with prices and descriptions from your store
  • Product recommendation element (only available on paid plans)
  • Coupon codes for your email recipients

Just like GetResponse, Klaviyo’s email builder also offers a lot of functionality. The email wizard is similar to Mailchimp and Omnisend, offering many valuable features for ecommerce stores.

Klaviyo email builder

For instance, the wizard lets you pull static and dynamic product recommendations into the email.

The only challenge we noted with Klaviyo’s email builder is that depending on the template structure, content elements would sometimes fit the full width, and other times, they would be displayed in one column. However, once you understand the logic behind this, everything seems right.

Both tools also provide users with many templates to help them build beautiful email campaigns. GetResponse has more than 200 templates that look very nice and modern.

On the other hand, Klaviyo has a library of 90+ ready templates for different occasions.

And which campaigns can you design with these tools?

GetResponse allows you to create:

  • Regular newsletter
  • A/B tests
  • RRS campaigns
  • Email automation
  • Other ordinary emails

You can send all types of emails with Klaviyo. In addition, you can also send SMS and mobile push notifications, although the latter is still in the beta stage.

You should also consider support for personalization when choosing between GetResponse or Klaviyo. In that case, we found that both tools have advanced personalization capabilities.

With GetResponse, you can personalize your email subject lines, preheaders, and content by adding customer data. You can also make relevant product recommendations to subscribers based on browsing history.

Klaviyo has a convenient button in the text editor that allows you to add subscriber details. You can also personalize product listings in the email according to recently browsed or liked products.

Klaviyo vs GetResponse: Which one takes the lead?

This round ends in a tie since both platforms have an intuitive and powerful email builder and beautiful email templates.

It's a tie

Marketing automation

Marketing automation allows you to run your email campaigns on autopilot. Let’s now compare the automation abilities of GetResponse vs Klaviyo.

Klaviyo marketing automation view

Klaviyo’s automation capability is very advanced. It has various sophisticated automation options, such as webhooks and conditional splits.

However, adding webhooks into a workflow can be challenging for first-time users as it requires specific knowledge.

GetResponse automation is more user-friendly. The platform has 43 pre-built automation workflows for the most common ecommerce cases. There are also a lot of conditions and tags for modifying your workflows to suit your campaign needs.

GetResponse pre-built automation workflows include ready-to-go templates for the following emails:

  • Welcome emails
  • Lead qualifying
  • Engagement and retention
  • Post-purchase
  • Abandoned cart
  • Webinar and events
  • Sales promotion

On the flip side, Klaviyo offers ready-to-go templates for.

  • Welcome series
  • Abandoned cart
  • Browse abandonment
  • Customer thank you
  • Product review / cross-sell
  • Customer win-back

Klaviyo also allows you to add SMS to your workflow to enhance customer communication. Conversely, GetResponse incorporates push notifications into the workflow to help you reach users as they browse the internet.

The only drawback we noticed with GetResponse’s automation is that product recommendations and abandoned cart triggers are only available for the highest-tier users.

GetResponse vs Klaviyo: the best automation capabilities

This round ends in a tie. Both tools offer advanced automation capabilities and pre-built workflow templates. GetResponse is slightly more user-friendly but has limitations in its pricing plans. On the other hand, Klaviyo is a bit trickier and requires a steeper learning curve, but it provides automation features for all users.

It's a tie

Signup forms and landing pages

This section of our Klaviyo vs GetResponse comparison examines how these tools perform regarding signup forms and landing pages.

While both tools have decent list-building capabilities, GetResponse has a slight edge in this category because it offers landing pages. GetResponse has a lot of cool designs you can use to create beautiful landing pages.

With Klaviyo, your only option is to use a full-page signup form as a landing page.

Klaviyo signup form wizard

Otherwise, the tools are similar in every other aspect of this category.

  • Modern signup forms: Both tools can adapt their beautiful signup form designs to your brand colors. On both platforms, you will find extended template libraries. The only difference is that Klaviyo offers copy-ready templates, and GetResponse–doesn’t.
  • Customizable templates: You can easily customize and set the rules for each tool’s signup form.
  • Simple list management: The logic behind list management seems clear for both tools. There are a few pre-built templates to guide you on how to build your segments.
  • Signup form analytics: Klaviyo and GetResponse provide analytics for the signup forms, such as clicks, signups, signup rate, and device used.
GetResponse vs Klaviyo: Which one offers better list-building capabilities?

GetResponse wins this round. This is because it offers landing pages while Klaviyo doesn’t.

GetResponse

Segmentation

When it comes to segmentation, Klaviyo undoubtedly outshines GetResponse. This is because Klaviyo has ready-go-audiences for you, while GetResponse doesn’t.

This makes it easy to segment and target your customers with relevant messages.

Both tools offer decent segmentation options if you build your segments from scratch. With GetResponse, your segmentation options are:

  • Contact details
  • Contact actions
  • Geolocation
  • Scoring
  • Tags
  • Consent fields
  • Ecommerce behavior
  • Conversion funnel

klaviyo segmentation view

With Klaviyo, you have the following segmentation options:

  • Based on actions someone has taken or has not taken
  • User properties
  • If someone is or is not within the EU (GDPR)
  • Someone’s proximity to a location
  • If someone is in the list or not
  • If someone has the email address been unsubscribed
  • Predictive analytics about someone

Lastly, we also noticed that GetResponse doesn’t have criteria for segmenting subscribers based on onsite behavior.

Which tool is better at segmentation?

Klaviyo edges ahead of GetResponse in this round because it has ready-to-go audiences and onsite behavior criteria.

Klaviyo

Analytics

To gauge the performance of email campaigns, your chosen ESP must provide detailed campaign analytics. So, which tool excels in this category?

Let’s find out.

GetResponse tracks and reports on many of the campaign metrics you may want. For example, the tool tracks your conversion rate, website visits, bounces, engagement, and more.

Just like GetResponse, Klaviyo also has an extensive coverage for campaign metrics. However, the tool takes it one step further by allowing you to schedule your custom reports and deliver them to your email.

You can schedule up to 10 reports, but contact support to include more reports.

Klaviyo’s other impressive feature is its predictive analytics. This feature dramatically benefits ecommerce merchants as it helps them predict various customer-related factors.

For instance, the tool helps marketers expect the following:

  • Date of the following order
  • Lifetime value
  • Probability of churning
  • Spending capacity
  • Anticipated demographics

The Benchmarks feature allows you to compare your campaign’s performance to other players in the industry.

It’s worth noting, GetResponse only provides ecommerce reports on the highest-tier plans.

Klaviyo and GetResponse: Which one offers better analytics?

Klaviyo takes this round because of its unlimited reports, predictive analytics, and Benchmarks feature.

Klaviyo

Customer support

GetResponse has various customer support channels for users. However, only chat and email support are available 24/7 for all paid plan users. They also have phone support, but only available for the highest-tier plans.

Free plan users don’t get any help and must find other ways to deal with their issues.

Klaviyo is also committed to supporting its clients, but you have to be on a paid plan to enjoy dedicated support.

Those on the free plan only get email support for the first 60 days. After that, you must upgrade to a paid plan or find other ways to solve your problems. Paid plans users get email and chat support 24 hours, five days a week.

And unlike GetResponse, Klaviyo doesn’t provide phone support, even on the highest-tiered plan.

We found that customers report slow help responses. With customer support very slow, you’d expect Klaviyo to have other helpful resources to help users solve their challenges. Fortunately, they do.

Klaviyo has the following resources to help users navigate their platform with ease:

  • Help center: to help users find answers to their questions
  • Online Klaviyo community: to help customers learn from other Klaviyo users
  • Live training: to help users get started and grow in the platform
  • Guides: to help users tackle challenges effectively
  • Product updates: to educate users about the latest product features

GetResponse is no less, though. They also have many resources, such as guides, videos, and webinars for their users.

Which tool offers better customer support?

GetResponse offers better customer support.

GetResponse

Integrations

Both tools impressed us with their integrations.

Klaviyo supports your marketing with 300+ pre-built integrations. GetResponse also holds its own in this category, allowing you to browse hundreds of applications that integrate with the platform.

This eliminates the need for switching between applications and losing valuable time.

The integrations are available in different categories, such as:

  • CRM
  • Live commerce
  • Social media
  • Payments/subscriptions
  • Quiz / Survey tools, and many more

The integrations are available on all plans for both tools to help users build campaigns that drive revenue and retention.

Klaviyo or GetResponse: Which one offers the most integrations?

This round ends in a tie since both tools offer many integrations to all users.

It's a tie

Compatibility with other marketing channels

Using a tool compatible with other marketing platforms extends your reach. This can increase your customer touchpoints, making your marketing more successful.

The other channels that GetResponse integrates with include:

  • SMS
  • Web push notifications
  • Facebook Pixel
  • Google Ads
  • Facebook ads

However, SMS is only available for Max plan users.

With Klaviyo, you can send emails, SMS, and app push notifications. Facebook and Google retargeting is available if you add integrations.

Which tool wins?

Both tools are winners because they are compatible with various other marketing channels. The choice of which channels to prioritize depends entirely on you.
