ActiveCampaign pricing in 2024

By Stacy Kimbell

Last update: April 18, 2024

ActiveCampaign is a versatile automation platform that boasts 185,000+ customers and a rating of 4.5/5 on the Shopify App Store and G2 Review platform.

Although it may not be suitable for small businesses, ActiveCampaign is a solid tool for established ecommerce ventures.

If you’re considering this tool for your automation needs, it’s essential to understand the costs involved. Fortunately, ActiveCampaign pricing is pretty straightforward. However, the abundance of plans available can be slightly overwhelming.

Luckily, we’re here to help. In this article, we’ll provide an overview of ActiveCampaign pricing plans. We’ll explore the costs, feature sets, and value propositions of each option.

Let’s dive in.

ActiveCampaign pricing plans

Let’s start by addressing this question: Is there a free ActiveCampaign plan? Unfortunately, there isn’t.

Instead, the platform provides a 14-day free trial. This allows you to test the platform with up to 100 contacts and send up to 100 emails. However, to unlock the platform’s all features, you’ll need a full subscription.

ActiveCampaign pricing plans are divided into three categories:

  • Marketing
  • Sales
  • Bundles

Let’s dive into each category and the plans comprising them.

Marketing plans

ActiveCampaign offers four Marketing plans for you to consider. Let’s take a closer look at each of them.

Lite

The Lite plan is best for solopreneurs needing basic email marketing features. It starts at $39 monthly for up to 1,000 contacts.

With this plan, you can send ten times as many emails as your contact list size each month. For instance, with 1,000 contacts, you can send up to 10,000 emails monthly.

The plan includes essential features like a drag-and-drop builder, automation, segmentation, and custom reports.

Plus

The Plus plan provides additional features compared to the Lite plan. It begins at $70 monthly for 1,000 contacts $49 if billed annually. Like the Lite plan, you can send ten times the number of emails as your contact list size each month.

This plan is tailored for small teams and businesses. It includes SMS marketing. Moreover, this plan grants access to landing pages, third-party integrations, popup forms, and Facebook Ads.

Professional

The Professional plan is suitable for teams aiming to enhance their marketing strategies. It starts at $187 per month for 2,500 contacts. It offers a higher email-sending limit, which is 12 times your contact list size.

In addition to the Plus features, this plan provides access to predictive sending, split automation, and integrations with Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Enterprise

The Enterprise plan, the highest tier, caters to expanding teams within larger organizations. Starting at $323 per month for 2,500 contacts, this plan is notably pricier. Do the offerings justify this ActiveCampaign price?

The plan offers a 15x contact monthly email-sending limit, which surpasses other plans. Additionally, it provides access to advanced features, including custom reporting, unlimited email testing, HIPAA support, and uptime SLA.

Below is a table summarizing the ActiveCampaign cost for each plan in the Marketing category. The tiered pricing shows how prices change with subscriber list growth.

One of the biggest downsides we’ve noticed in this pricing table is the wide price intervals. If you have 10,120 contacts on your list, you will have to pay $286 monthly, the same amount you would pay if you had 24,000 contacts. This price is even higher with the Plus or Professional plans. So, bear this in mind when choosing your email provider.

The Lite plan offers basic email marketing features at a relatively affordable price. This includes a drag-and-drop builder, limited marketing automation features, and full segmentation. However, with this plan you won’t get any popups, landing pages, ecommerce automation, integrations, or even more features.

The Plus plan includes an SMS add-on for multi-channel marketing. It also offers better list-building features and third-party integrations.

For enhanced marketing strategies with higher email-sending limits, the Professional plan is a good pick. In fact, if you run an ecommerce business and implement marketing automation strategies, you need a Professional plan, because neither Lite nor Plus plans have automation splits.

The Enterprise plan offers significantly higher email-sending limits and advanced features, including HIPAA support and uptime SLA. However, it lacks affordability for smaller businesses and startups.

Sales plans

ActiveCampaign provides three plans under its Sales category. This feature set is mainly dedicated for customer relationship management and sales automation, so mainly SaaS companies and well-established online businesses.

Unlike other ActiveCampaign pricing plan categories, there’s no tiered pricing based on subscriber lists. Instead, you can add features, such as additional users and custom reporting, at an extra cost.

Plus

The Plus plan is tailored for small sales teams focusing on lead and pipeline management. It starts at $23 per month for one user. For each additional user, you’ll need to pay an extra $23 per month.

This plan supports various channels, such as SMS, lead capture forms, and an inbox browser extension. The ActiveCampaign SMS pricing is $21 for 1,000 credits.

It also provides 850+ pre-built workflows, 870+ integrations, and segmentation features.

Its CRM features include account and deal management, lead scoring, and syncing your inbox with your CRM.

Professional

If you’re looking to streamline deal identification and closure, then the Professional plan suits you. It starts at $59 per month for one user, with the same price for each additional user.

In addition to the Plus features, this plan offers one-to-one email options to personalize automation workflows. You’ll also gain access to split automation, Facebook Ads, and an Automations Map.

To keep up with AI trends, the plan includes two tools: Sentiment analysis assesses the tone of incoming deal emails (positive, negative, or neutral), while the win probability feature estimates the likelihood of winning a deal.

Enterprise

The Enterprise plan is the highest tier within the Sales category. It caters to growing teams requiring a customizable CRM.

It begins at $119 per month for one user, with identical pricing for each additional user.

Beyond the features included in the Professional plan, this plan provides custom reporting and custom objects. This allows you to manage your data according to your business needs.

Additionally, it includes a single sign-on feature, HIPAA support, and uptime SLA.

Bundles

Referred to as the Bundles, these three ActiveCampaign plans combine marketing automation and sales CRM.

Plus

For growing businesses seeking to combine sales automation and marketing features, the Plus plan is a good choice. It begins at $116 per month for 1,000 contacts and 5 users. It features a 12x contact email send limit, and additional user seats cost $23 each per month.

The Plus plan offers numerous marketing and sales automation tools. For list building, it includes signup forms and landing page functionalities.

Other notable features include Facebook Lead Ads, site and event tracking, and comprehensive reports. With an open API, ActiveCampaign allows integration with hundreds of other tools.

Lastly, the plan offers a custom mail server domain. This enables you to match your server domain to your brand name.

Professional

The Professional plan is designed for growing businesses needing to enhance sales and marketing efficiency.

The plan starts at $482 per month for 2,500 contacts. It accommodates ten users and features a 15x contact email send limit. Additional user seats cost $59 each per month.

Features include everything from the Plus plan, along with one-to-one email functionality. Other features include split automation and integration with Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics 365.

This plan provides advanced reporting features. For instance, you can summarize attribution data from your contacts into one dashboard. It also features AI tools for sentiment analysis and win probability.

Enterprise

The Enterprise plan is ActiveCampaign’s most expensive bundle plan. It starts at $918 per month for 2,500 contacts and 15 users. There’s a 20x contact email send limit, and additional user seats cost $119 each per month.

This plan includes everything offered in the Professional plan. Additionally, it comes with custom reporting, custom objects, and unlimited email testing. Finally, the plan provides a single sign-on option, HIPAA support, and uptime SLA.

ActiveCampaign SMS and MMS pricing

SMS marketing isn’t part of any ActiveCampaign pricing plan. It’s an add-on feature for all users, except those on the Marketing Lite plan.

The ActiveCampaign SMS pricing is based on a credit system. Each message costs a specific number of credits.

The number of credits required to send an SMS depends on the recipient’s location. ActiveCampaign supports numerous countries for SMS marketing

You can purchase 1,000 SMS credits for $21. Additional credits can be purchased from the billing page.

How to choose the best ActiveCampaign pricing plan

Here’s a quick breakdown to help you select the most suitable plan for your business.

The Marketing Lite plan offers an excellent entry point for email marketing automation. It’s particularly attractive for solopreneurs and small businesses. However, this plan isn’t the cheapest on the market and doesn’t have popups. That’s why we recommend small businesses look for more affordable ActiveCampaign alternatives.

From our perspective, for actively growing and developing ecommerce sites, Professional plan is the best choice. However, this plan is more expensive than similar features on other platforms, like Omnisend

Bundles Plus suits those in search of both sales and marketing automation. This is especially beneficial for SaaS businesses.

Finally, the Marketing and Sales Professional plans are designed for scaling businesses. For large organizations with extensive scalability needs, Enterprise-level solutions are ideal.

Wrap up

With ten ActiveCampaign pricing plans to choose from, it can be overwhelming to decide. However, the good news is that ActiveCampaign has a plan for every business need.

Unfortunately, ActiveCampaign doesn’t provide a free version. Also, the free trial is limited to just two weeks. This can be a significant drawback for some businesses.

Cheaper platforms are available for those with only basic needs. The advanced features of ActiveCampaign may even overwhelm beginners.

Nevertheless, ActiveCampaign is highly recommended for those deeply invested in email marketing and sales. It’s a flexible marketing automation platform capable of scaling alongside your business.
