Brevo pricing in 2024

By Stacy Kimbell

Last update: June 17, 2024

With 500,000+ customers globally, Brevo is a compelling email and SMS marketing option for bloggers, non-profits, and ecommerce beginners.

Though unavailable on the Shopify app store, its impressive 4.5 rating on G2 and Capterra speaks volumes.

However, here’s the real question: Is Brevo the right email marketing platform for you? Well, that depends on your budget and needs, but we’re here to help you decide.

In this article, we’ll explore Brevo pricing plans and the features each plan brings to the table. Stay tuned as we unpack what Brevo offers and how it stacks up against other solutions in the market.

Brevo pricing plans: Feature and tiers comparison

For this article, the Brevo plans we’ll dive into are those offered under its Marketing Platform, namely:

  • Free
  • Starter
  • Business
  • Enterprise

Email Credits, a pay-as-you-go option for clients with irregular sending needs, is also available.

A quick note: Brevo stands out in the email marketing landscape because of its unusual pricing structure. Unlike competitors who charge based on list size, Brevo focuses on the number of emails you send. This can be a significant advantage for businesses with large contact lists who don’t send emails frequently.

Let’s begin.

Free plan

The Brevo Free plan is a perfect entry point for solopreneurs or businesses dipping their toes into email marketing. It allows you to:

  • Send up to 300 emails per day
  • Experiment with the drag-and-drop email editor
  • Explore pre-designed email templates
  • Access basic email reports

For an additional fee, you can even dabble in SMS and WhatsApp campaigns, though marketing automation is limited to 2,000 contacts.

While email support is available, you won’t have access to phone or live chat support. Additionally, you can’t access advanced features like A/B testing and predictive sending AI.

Despite these limitations, the Free plan is a great way to test-drive the platform before committing to a paid Brevo subscription.

Starter plan

Brevo’s Starter plan is designed for growing businesses that require higher sending volumes. These include small- to medium-sized businesses and bloggers.

Brevo prices the Starter plan at $25/month. With it, you eliminate the Free plan’s daily sending limit (300 emails/day) and can send 20,000+ emails per month.

However, you must purchase an optional add-on, which isn’t available for free users, to remove the Brevo branding on your emails. Since this is a monthly charge, it adds to the Brevo costs for this plan.

These are the main differences between Brevo’s Starter plan and the free plan.

You still get access to the same basic reporting and analytics, email support, and SMS marketing. Your automated workflows are still limited to 2,000 contacts. Also, you can’t access popups or web and mobile push notifications. There are no heat maps, devices, and geolocation reporting.

Business plan

For growing businesses, Brevo’s Business plan starts at $65/month. It suits ecommerce sites and SaaS businesses needing comprehensive analytics and support to optimize their campaigns.

Like the Starter plan, you can send 20,000+ emails per month. It includes everything in the Starter plan, plus A/B testing. The Business plan also provides phone and live chat support.

More importantly, you gain access to powerful features like marketing automation and predictive sending AI for optimal delivery times. Advanced statistics for in-depth performance analysis are also available.

However, while you can create and launch Facebook ads, you still can’t access popups. Meanwhile, some features like multi-user access are only available as add-ons.

It’s also worth noting that this plan comes with only one landing page (though there’s a builder) and 500 push notifications per month. You need to pay extra to add more.

Enterprise plan

Providing custom Brevo pricing, the Enterprise plan caters to the complex marketing needs of well-established businesses.

On top of the Business plan features, it provides sub-account management for managing multiple teams, enterprise-grade security for robust data protection, and advanced integrations with other marketing tools.

With Enterprise, you get customized solutions and extensive support, which includes a dedicated account manager. Unlimited popups with unlimited push notifications start at $106/month.

Pay-as-you-go pricing

Brevo also has a pay-as-you-go (PAYG) option for email, SMS, WhatsApp, and dedicated IP.

The email credits option is ideal for organizations with sporadic or seasonal email marketing campaigns. You can also leverage this option if you simply want to avoid monthly commitments, particularly when you’re just starting and are unsure of your email volume.

Instead of a fixed monthly fee, you buy email credits to send emails. One credit equals one email sent to one contact. This allows you to pay only for what you use, making it a cost-effective choice for businesses that only send seasonal emails.

You can buy non-expiring email credits in bulk, ranging from 5,000 to 1,000,000 credits.

Other Brevo solutions

Besides these email marketing plans offered under the Marketing Platform, Brevo provides other solutions with tiered pricing.

Here’s a quick overview:

  • Conversations Platform: Free plan for basic email and live chat, with the Pro plan adding social media channels, form and lead capture, and Brevo phone support
  • Sales Platform: Free plan for managing contacts and 50 open deals, with the Pro plan for unlimited deals, sales automation, and reporting
  • Messaging API: Free plan for low-volume emails (300 per day), with the pay-as-you-go option based on sending needs
  • Enterprise Solution: Customizable plans for large organizations with advanced features like security and integrations

The Enterprise plan isn’t featured in the table above because it comes with custom pricing. It also offers many exclusive features, including advanced integrations, dedicated IP, and tailored onboarding.

While Brevo seems affordable at first glance, its pricing can escalate quickly.

For instance, Starter plan users must pay an extra $12/month to remove the Brevo logo from emails.

Business plan users must also take the following extra Brevo costs into account:

  • Marketing users: $12/month per user
  • Landing pages: $24/month per 5 pages
  • Push notifications: $10/month per 10,000 pushes

Even Enterprise users interested in unlimited push notifications and popups must pay extra.

Brevo SMS and MMS pricing

While Brevo offers SMS marketing, it doesn’t have SMS plans. Instead, Brevo SMS pricing is based on non-expiring SMS credits that are part of its pay-as-you-go options.

These credits must be purchased in packs of 100. They’re also accessible to all Brevo users, even those on the Free plan. You just need to purchase the SMS credits upfront to load your account balance.

The cost per SMS depends on the recipient’s country and the number of characters in the message. Brevo supports SMS sending to over 170 countries.

Here’s a brief Brevo cost breakdown for sending texts to selected countries.

You can also use these credits to send MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) messages. For instance, in the US, one MMS is equal to 2.1 SMS credits.

Interestingly, Brevo also offers prepaid WhatsApp credits as part of its PAYG offering. Like the SMS credits, they don’t have an expiration date. Their cost also depends on the recipient’s country.

How to choose the best Brevo pricing plan

Now that you know how the various Brevo plans differ, let’s dive into the factors you should consider when choosing the best plan for your business.

Business size: Smaller businesses, bloggers, and startups can begin with the Free plan, which allows you to send up to 300 emails/day. If you need more than 300 emails per day, you could upgrade to the Starter plan, eliminating the daily sending limit.

Both plans support unlimited contacts but only provide limited marketing automation and basic campaign insights.

Available budget: If you’re a small business or have a limited budget, consider the Starter plan, which starts at $25/month, or the PAYG option.

The Starter plan eliminates the daily sending limit and provides basic campaign insights. However, marketing automation features are limited. Meanwhile, the pay-as-you-go option offers maximum flexibility for sporadic senders, but costs can rise quickly with high email volume.

Email volume/frequency: If you have lower and inconsistent email sending volumes, the PAYG option could be more cost-effective.

However, once volumes consistently rise above 20,000 emails per month, the Business plan becomes more economical than the pay-as-you-go option.

Advanced features and integrations: Ecommerce sites, SaaS businesses, and those requiring advanced marketing capabilities should consider the Business plan. It includes marketing automation, Facebook ads integration, A/B testing, and advanced reporting.

Meanwhile, for large, well-established businesses needing to manage multiple units/users and get a 360-degree customer view, the custom-priced Enterprise plan is the best fit.

Wrap up

What makes Brevo pricing stand out is its innovative approach, charging based on emails sent rather than contact list size. Its diverse pricing plans cater to a wide range of needs, from startups to large enterprises.

Hopefully, our in-depth breakdown of various Brevo costs has provided you with some much-needed clarity on which plan to choose. By carefully evaluating your business needs against various Brevo pricing plans, you can find the most cost-effective solution to power your email campaigns.
