Remarkety vs Mailchimp comparison: Feature by feature

In this section, we’ll comprehensively compare Remarkety and Mailchimp. We’ll closely examine various aspects of both platforms, which include:

  • Ease of getting started
  • Building an email campaign
  • Marketing automation
  • Signup forms and landing pages
  • Segmentation
  • Analytics
  • Customer support
  • Integrations
  • Compatibility with other marketing tools

At the end of each feature comparison, we’ll crown a winner. Doing so will help simplify your decision-making process.

Let’s get started.

Ease of getting started

How easy is it to sign up on Remarkety and Mailchimp?

Remarkety offers an easy signup process that meets industry standards. You can quickly begin a free 14-day trial without requiring credit card information.

Mailchimp also offers a straightforward signup process, but you need a credit card for the 30-day free trial. This is quite a setback for users who want to gauge the tool.

Remarkety has many various settings. We think they could be grouped better because now the interface looks crowded.  You can quickly get confused while navigating through the settings.

Mailchimp getting started

Likewise, Mailchimp offers a similar challenge. Due to the tool’s extensive features, we couldn’t locate specific settings, such as changing the sender’s address. But overall, Mailchimp is more intuitive and visually appealing than Remarkety.

Additionally, Remarkety lacks clear differentiation between Sequences and Automations in its menu. This can easily confuse new users.

Remarkety vs. Mailchimp: Who's the winner?

Mailchimp wins this round. As much as both tools present a fair share of challenges, Mailchimp offers a checklist to help users get started.

Mailchimp

Building an email campaign

Which tool has the best email campaign builder? Remarkety or Mailchimp?

Well, Mailchimp’s email campaign wizard is notably intuitive and precise.

Conversely, Remarkety’s email-building wizard appears clunky, with multiple information and settings consolidated on a single page.

This includes subject lines, sender details, reply-to emails, recipient segmentation, coupon settings, and product recommendations.

We found the setup crowded and overwhelming.

The good thing?

Remarkety’s email builder is reasonably good. It offers standard elements and a variety of customization options.

On the other hand, Mailchimp has two email builders, the classic and the new (beta) builder. We found both builders user-friendly and robust in functionality.

Mailchimp email campaign builder

Adding a logo to emails is simple within Remarkety. Nevertheless, when we tried to add it in the settings to have it automatically appear in all emails, it didn’t work as we expected.

Consequently, Mailchimp prompts users to add a logo during the initial setup and provides a convenient option for adding it later in the content section. However, removing the Mailchimp tag from the email footer can be challenging.

Regarding email templates, Remarkety provides 20 visually appealing and sufficient email templates.

Conversely, Mailchimp’s templates on the free plan appeared outdated and basic. The good thing is that the paid plans give access to modern and beautiful templates.

What’s more interesting?

Mailchimp covers all types of emails, providing comprehensive options. With Remarkety, you get all the same plus SMS campaigns.

The good thing is that Remarkety’s email editor provides standard personalization options that are easy to find. Mailchimp, on the other hand, has all of that plus introduces dynamic content opportunities that allow even more precise personalization.

Regarding unique features, Remarkety offers an extensive array of coupon functionality. This feature surpasses many email marketing platforms.

Meanwhile, Mailchimp’s integration with Litmus offers 25 tokens of inbox preview on different devices but extra tokens may incur additional costs.

Both Mailchimp and Remarkety have a few drawbacks worth mentioning.

We couldn’t find a product content block for easy product uploads from a store on Remarkety. On top of that, advanced content blocks like surveys or carousels were lacking.

Within Mailchimp, you can only access six email templates on the free plan. This requires an upgrade for access to more options. Also, scheduling email campaigns is restricted to paid plans. We hoped for the scheduling feature in the free plan.

Mailchimp vs Remarkety: Which one takes the lead?

Mailchimp is the winner. Its email campaign wizard is intuitive and clear, which makes it beginner-friendly and allows better personalization.

Mailchimp

Marketing automation

Remarkety or Mailchimp? Which one offers the better marketing automation capabilities?

Remarkety appears to be undergoing a transition with its marketing automation functionality. It currently provides two options for sending automated messages. You can send messages through the Automations part and Sequences.

The Automations part looks more developed and offers many read-to-go workflows. On the downside, it could be more user-friendly.

Sequences is still in beta; while we were testing, it didn’t work out as expected. Nonetheless, it has a typical drag-and-drop editor found in other platforms for triggered messages.

On the other hand, Mailchimp offers a notably user-friendly and well-thought-out automation functionality featuring an editor similar to platforms like Klaviyo and Omnisend. This similarity can be helpful if you decide to transition between these tools.

Mailchimp automation builder

What’s more?

Mailchimp boasts 70+ pre-built customer journey templates incorporating various social media channels and emails. However, while the workflow structure is ready, you need to add content in most cases.

Remarkety, on the other hand, offers ten templates for various workflows. They include:

  • Feedback requests
  • Abandoned carts
  • Reactivating inactive customers
  • Order follow-ups
  • Rewards programs
  • Win-back campaigns
  • Welcome emails
  • Browse abandonment
  • Birthday greetings.

Mailchimp allows the integration of social media into workflows. For web push notifications and SMS, you will need 3rd party integrations for extra payment.

Alternatively, Remarkety allows users to choose between sending emails and SMS as part of the automation workflow. In the Sequences part, integration options are available. The Automations part needs better usability.

We did notice the Sequences part offers a more conventional interface with better usability. However, Sequences require templates, as you have to build everything from scratch.

Remarkety vs Mailchimp: the best automation capabilities

Again, Mailchimp takes the lead. Its automation feature is more user-friendly and offers more prebuilt customer journey workflows.

Mailchimp

Signup forms and landing pages

Mailchimp signup form

Regarding signup forms, both platforms lack ready-to-use signup forms, meaning you must build them from scratch.

The popup layout offered by Mailchimp looks modern, and you can easily customize them to match your brand colors.

In addition, Mailchimp offers nine landing page templates and a comprehensive landing page builder. This feature is undeniably good. We have to admit that it’s among the best you can find on email marketing platforms.

Alternatively, Remarkety’s popup builder differs significantly from other email marketing platforms. It lacks a WYSIWYG editor and has many settings, which is confusing.

Although Remarkety contains much information in the beneficial contact section, its visual presentation is rather congested.

Furthermore, the process of account approval by the Remarkety team might extend up to 48 hours. As a result, this could prove inconvenient if you aim to initiate email campaigns immediately after signup.

Alternatively, managing subscriber lists in Mailchimp is straightforward. You can easily tag subscribers and segment them. On the downside, Mailchimp charges for duplicates, unsubscribes and inactive contacts. This is quite inconveniencing budget-wise.

Mailchimp vs Remarkety: Which one offers better list-building capabilities?

Although both platforms have drawbacks, we find Mailchimp the winner.

Mailchimp

Segmentation

Which tool provides the best segmentation capabilities?

Well, both tools have ready-to-go audiences that are crucial for email marketing beginners.

Remarkety offers seven ready-to-use segments, which include:

  • Lapsed customers
  • Recent buyers
  • Unresponsive to emails
  • At risk
  • Lapsed VIP’s
  • Prospects
  • Active non-purchasers.

Remarkety offers robust segmentation. It provides various criteria by which you can segment your customers. They include spending, channels, order value, order dates, contact details, email campaign engagement, marketing status, website activity, and participation in the loyalty program.

Mailchimp segmentation

Mailchimp’s segmentation features are also strong. The platform provides three ready-to-use segments. It offers a broad range of criteria and permits you to incorporate up to 5 conditions within each segment, which is usually enough.

Which tool is better at segmentation?

Remarkety wins this round. Its segmentation capabilities are more ecommerce-oriented, and the platform offers many ready-to-go audiences compared to Mailchimp.

Remarkety

Analytics

Remarkety and Mailchimp provide analytics for email campaigns.

Remarkety offers extensive analytics, reporting nearly all email tracking aspects you desire. They include:

  • Activity over time
  • Emails sent
  • Generated revenue
  • Order number delivery rate
  • Unsubscribed
  • Unique open and click rate
  • Purchase rate
  • Bounce rate
  • Spam rate

The best part?

Remarkety also offers analytics for SMS. You can track texts sent, generated revenue, purchase, delivery, click, and bounce rates. However, the tool lacks geolocation reports, segment behavior insights, and click maps.

The bright side is that these reports are sufficient for most small businesses.

Mailchimp offers a wide range of analytics but needs in-depth ecommerce insights. They include:

  • Standard opens and clicks
  • Social media engagement
  • Landing page engagement rate
  • Campaign forwarding and opens
  • Revenue (if connected to the store)

Additionally, you can gain valuable insights from comparative reports, enabling you to assess various campaign performances. But these comparative reports are exclusive to Premium plan users.

Mailchimp vs Remarkety: Which one offers better analytics?

It’s a tie this round. In most business cases, both platforms’ analytics will be sufficient.

It's a tie

Customer support

Remarkety offers email and live chat support for all users. Also, it has a dedicated manager starting from the Starter plan.

However, it’s worth noting that phone support is exclusive to Advanced and Professional plans. The good thing is that all users have many resources to help navigate the platform.

Mailchimp, however, provides customer support that varies according to your chosen plan. Users on the free plan can access email support, but only for the initial 30 days.

Customers on paid plans get 24/7 email and chat support. Moreover, Premium plan subscribers enjoy an extra perk of priority support and the option to seek assistance via phone.

What’s exciting is Mailchimp’s live chat support was swift. At first, we interacted with a chatbot.  However, when we requested the live chat, the assistant connected promptly. Our query received a response within approximately 2-3 minutes.

In addition, with Mailchimp, you get to access many valuable resources. They include:

  • Mailchimp 101 tutorial
  • Blog articles
  • Resources grouped by channels, business stages, and interests
  • Educational videos on YouTube in different languages
Which tool offers better customer support?

Mailchimp takes the lead. It has more comprehensive customer support compared to Remarkety.

Mailchimp

Integrations

Which one of these email marketing platforms offers more integrations with other marketing tools? Mailchimp or Remarkety?

Mailchimp offers 300+ integrations with various tools. You can seamlessly connect your preferred apps, such as WordPress, Shopify, and Canva. Such integrations heighten productivity and let you achieve more in less time.

Similarly, Remarkety offers an extensive array of integrations. It provides numerous options to connect your email marketing campaigns with vital business tools and services. This guarantees access to a wide range of solutions tailored to fulfill your distinct needs.

Remarkety or Mailchimp: Which one offers the most integrations?

Mailchimp wins this round. It’s hard to beat a solution with integrations for almost everything in the market.

Mailchimp

Compatibility with other marketing channels

Remarkety and Mailchimp are compatible with other marketing channels.

Remarkety supports SMS marketing and Facebook ads.

Meanwhile, Mailchimp offers integrations with Facebook, Instagram, and Google Analytics.

However, it doesn’t offer direct support for SMS and web push notifications. This is a significant setback for users who are seeking such a feature.

Which tool wins?

The winner depends on your marketing strategy. Bearing in mind that SMS is getting more and more attention from marketers, Remarkety takes the leading position in this round.

Remarkety

Price Comparison

Which email marketing tool offers better value for money? Remarkety or Mailchimp?

That’s what we’ll find out in this section.

We’ll dig into their free and paid plans, assessing their prices and the features provided.

Let’s dive in.

Free plans comparison

Mailchimp offers a free 30-day trial (for Standard and Essentials plans) and a Free plan. However, it’s worth mentioning that the plan is quite basic, with notably fewer features than its previous offering. That means you need to choose a paid plan to access features suitable for ecommerce.

The free plan offers various features. They include:

  • 1,000 emails sends
  • 1 user per account
  • 1 audience
  • Email support for the first 30 days
  • Very limited email templates

Alternatively, Remarkety doesn’t offer a free plan. Instead, it offers a generous 14-day trial, which lets you enjoy all the features for free. The good thing is you don’t require credit card details to take advantage of the free trial.

Paid plans

Remarkety has four pricing plans. They include:

  • Basic
  • Starter
  • Advanced
  • Professional

In contrast, Mailchimp offers three pricing plans, which are Essentials, Standard, and Premium.

Here are the specific details of the paid plans for Remarkety and Mailchimp.

As you can see, Remarkety’s initial price for the basic plan is higher. It might not align perfectly with the features it includes.

On the contrary, Mailchimp is relatively higher-priced. Nonetheless, the marginal difference in cost comes with additional features.

Mailchimp’s added features include behavioral targeting, insights into customer lifetime value, user seats, a website builder, SEO tools, and a free Mailchimp domain.

These features can significantly elevate the overall marketing experience and provide a competitive advantage.

Remarkety is a great email marketing tool offering diverse features at a slightly affordable price.

Its robust segmentation capabilities and comprehensive analytics render it an appealing choice for different businesses.

Mailchimp, on the other hand, excels with its advanced functionalities, catering to a wide array of marketing demands.

Its extensive collection of analytics, comparative reports, and multiple integrations present a solid solution for businesses aiming to elevate their email marketing efforts.

Ultimately, the decision between Remarkety and Mailchimp depends on your specific needs and preferences. If cost-effectiveness is a prime concern, Remarkety stands tall.

Conversely, if you seek a sophisticated and versatile platform, Mailchimp emerges as the best contender.

However, although Remarkety and Mailchimp are ecommerce-focused, the tools have limited functionality for well-established ecommerce businesses.

Therefore, if you’re searching for comprehensive ecommerce-specific features, we strongly recommend exploring GetResponse, Klaviyo, and Omnisend. And if you need a straightforward solution, check out Remarkety vs Shopify Email  or Mailchimp vs Flodesk.

It offers a complete suite of email marketing features tailored to the needs of your ecommerce business, all at an affordable price.
